Another Round (‘DRUK’) has taken home the ‘Best International Feature Film’ Oscar. Another Round is directed by Thomas Vinterberg and acquired by Umbrella Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand.

The last Danish film to have won in this category was over 10 years ago, In a Better World (2010) – and is the fourth Danish film to have ever taken home the “Best International Feature” Oscar.

Director Thomas Vinterberg dedicated the film to his daughter Ida who tragically passed away before production. As Vinternerg accepted the award, he expressed “[Ida] loved this, and she felt seen by this, and she was supposed to be in this, and if anyone dares to believe that she’s here with us somehow, you’ll be able to see her clapping and cheering with us.”

Vinterberg was also nominated for best director.

Another Round has been on a winning stream, with receiving the ‘Best Film in a Foreign Language’ BAFTA Film Award earlier this month – and was also a Golden Globes nominee in March.

Another Round is a fun and thought-provoking drama that follows Martin (Mads Mikkelsen), a high school teacher and three of his close friends, in a social experiment with alcohol. There are no limits and alcohol enters many aspects of their personal and professional lives.

Another Round will be available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and VOD in May (Australia) and June (New Zealand).
