Neighbourhood Watch Cinema Program Launched

Join us and City of Yarra for FREE cinema screenings in March.

Neighbourhood Watch will showcase The Big Steal (1990), The Merger (2018), Storm Boy (1976) and The Babadook (2014).

Neighbourhood Watch is a family-friendly environment with food and drinks available from nearby local businesses. We encourage you to bring your own picnic blankets, beanbags, snacks and drinks.

Live acoustic music will begin at 7pm each Friday night.

Cost: FREE
When: Every Friday night in March, from 7pm onwards. Films will roll after sunset.
Where: Linear Park Reserve, corner of Nicholson St and Park St, Fitzroy North
Getting There: Car parking is very limited in this area. Please consider walking, riding or public transport when planning your visit. Visit the Public Transport Victoria website to plan your journey. There are bicycle hoops located outside Velo Cycles, across Nicholson Street.

Please note: Screenings will begin when it is dark enough. Starting times may vary.


The Big Steal (1990)

Mike is a lonely Australian boy living in a coastal wilderness with his reclusive father. In search of friendship he encounters an Aboriginal native loner and the two form a bond in the care of orphaned pelicans.

The Babadook (2014)

A single mother and her child fall into a deep well of paranoia when an eerie children’s book titled “Mister Babadook” manifests in their home.
