AFF announces a very special 2022 program!

Rolf de Heer’s The Survival of Kindness (2022)

THE ADELAIDE FILM FESTIVAL HAS UNVEILED ITS FULL PROGRAM FOR ITS 2022 FESTIVAL. THE FILM FOR THIS YEAR IS ‘A CELEBRATION OF IMAGINATION’ WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY A STATEMENT THAT EMBODIES THE UMBRELLA FILMS PROGRAMMED THIS YEAR!

This year’s event incorporates 129 films, of which there are 22 world premieres and 32 Australian Premieres from more than 40 countries.

Umbrella is very excited to announce our upcoming releases, Rolf de Heer’s THE SURVIVAL OF KINDNESS and the Philippou brothers directorial debut TALK TO ME as festival cornerstones this year.

Closing Night Gala
Mia, and her group of friends who discover how to conjure spirits using a ceramic embalmed hand. They become hooked on the new thrill, until Mia is confronted by a soul claiming to be her dead mother. She opens the door to the spirit world and becomes plagued by supernatural visions. Having prompted a devastating possession, the group must struggle to decide who to trust: the dead or the living.

Premiere Gala Screening
In a cage on a trailer in the middle of the desert, BlackWoman is abandoned. But BlackWoman seems not ready to pass…she escapes, and walks through pestilence and persecution, from desert to mountain to city, to find those who left her to die. The responsible powerful are reluctant to release their privilege, and BlackWoman, escaping once more, must find solace in her beginnings.
